Chiropractic the McTimoney Way.
The Centre will be open for urgent care appointments from June 2nd. Obviously working practices have had to be changed and I will be working within the framework set out by the government, Public Health England and my professional association.
This means adopting strict cleaning, sanitation and infection control procedures and using personal protective equipment (PPE).
All patients requesting an appointment will first be questioned (triaged) over the phone and care managed remotely as much as possible. Face-to-face treatment will be reserved for urgent cases only.
We are in a situation of sustained transmission of Covid-19 so despite all precautions being taken, there is still a risk of transmission when attending clinic. Deciding to go ahead with face-to-face care is a serious decision and we must act in the best interests of ourselves and the wider community.
As always please follow NHS and government guidelines and take good care of youself.
It is a scary time and we all feel a bit helpless, so the best thing you can do is to look after your health and ensure your immune system is working the best that it can.
With that in mind, here are my top tips:
Eat a balance diet - included lots of brightly coloured fruit and veg and good quality protein. Limit processed food and sugar.
Drink plenty of water.
Keep your body moving - find an exercise class on-line, skip or dance!
Get some fresh air - open the windows or go for a walk if it is safe to do so.
Relax - try a daily meditation or breathing exercise.
Limit screen time and chose your news sources wisely.
Maintain a routine - get up, work and eat at regular times each day.
Every day try to :
Do something that brings you joy eg reading, painting, dancing or singing.
Achieve something eg clean out the shed, try a new recipe, tackle a DIY task.
Connect to a friend or family member eg phone call, skype call, do a shared online activity.

The McTimoney method of Chiropractic is a gentle and effective approach to whole body health. It aims to improve the alignment and mobility of the bones of the spine and other joints of the body, to restore optimum function, alleviate pain and to allow natural healing. Wherever possible, Chiropractors using the McTimoney approach work in co-ordination with the patient’s own doctor.
I am a member of the McTimoney Chiropractic Association and am Registered with the General Chiropractic Council. You can find more information about these bodies under Related Links.
The figure Cheiron, half man and half horse, bears the torch of knowledge and the caduceus of healing. He represents a spirit of philosophical independence, compassion and a sense of trust.
These are qualities to which McTimoney Chiropractors aspire.
